Learning Management Systems
There are many tools in the classroom that can make a teacher's life easier and help them manage a classroom better. These are called Learning Management Systems. There are many of these online and they can help with anything from timing in the classroom to noise level to helping keep track of grades and communicating with families effectively. Three of these tools are demonstrated below.
This tool is a random group generator from classtools.net which allows a teacher to easily assign groups for a group project or discussion without any bias. It also does it in a short amount of time and this can be displayed on the board so the students know what group they are in right away. All a teacher has to do is enter all the names of the students in the class and then it generates groups all by itself.
This is a timer from Online Stopwatch.com that can be used to set a time limit for a test, discussion, or any other use in the classroom. This is super useful as it allows the timer to be displayed on a SMART Board or projector and the whole class can easily see how much time they have left to do something. Also, this is very simple to use as the teacher enters the time limit with the button and then hits start and that's all.
This tool is a noise-level monitor from Classcraft.com. This tool is free to use and it allows for a teacher to physically show their students when they are being too loud. The teacher can set the max level bar at whatever they deem appropriate and then hit start and the purple bar goes up and down with the volume level. The students can then easily see when they get too loud since the purple will go past the read line. This will help the students self-monitor their volume and make it easier to manage.
